Derbyshire Kickboxing
Derbyshire Kickboxing is a division of the Professional Kickboxing Association (PKA) operating classes for all abilities in the Derbyshire area.

🎉 great way to finish the year welcoming two new members of the instructing team 🎉 Jon Davies and David Allen-Ashcroft from the Matlock class have successfully completed the Coach Confirmation Programme, competing practical delivery of classes across all our clubs as well as building their skills in the behind the scenes parts of being an instructor including health & safety, safeguarding and customer service 👍😀 both have worked tirelessly to achieve this amazing milestone to be awarded their Blue trousers and will be opening clubs of their own in early 2026 🎉 huge thanks to the existing team who have helped on their journey and especially Adam Sharman, Matlock class instructor for all his hard work 💪
📣🎅🧑🎄 As we near the festive break, please see below full club timetable of last classes of 2025 and first ones of 2026 📆 📣 Ripley class will also be moving to Wednesdays 7pm till 8pm after securing a bigger space in Ripley leisure centre to enable more advanced training to be done safely 👍🥊 as usual with our clubs, any missed sessions can be taken up at any of our clubs with no time limit so you get the most out of being part of our extended family of clubs 🥰
🎉 Now all the presentations have been done, can share the amazing news from our busiest ever black belt exam results 🎉🥋 is an absolute honour to be part of these momentous events in our students journey, huge congratulations to everyone who underwent the gruelling exam to be awarded 1st, 2nd or 3rd Dans 🥊💪😀 so so proud of everyone 🎉

Thrilled to announce a brand new category for our upcoming interclub tournament with our PKA sister clubs at Kickbox UK 🥊😀
⭐️ Adult Semi Contact Points TEAM category ⭐️ adding some strategy and drama to the event 👍
How will it work? 🤔
🥊 All adults competing in the Semi Contact Points category will take part
🥊 Teams of 3 or 4 will be allocated by the instructing team depending on the number of competitors and representation across clubs
🥊 Matches will be until a successful strike scores points (punch or kick! and then fighters swap over (or up to a maximum round time if no score made)
🥊 Winning team decided once all members have had their turn on the mat and total points scored
🥊 Teams decide their order to order to maximise points (ladies will fight ladies)
Really excited to add this new category into the adults competition, giving fighters more matches and working together to get gold 🥇 if successful, we may expand to the juniors in future events

🎉 Awesome black belt exam yesterday with our PKA sister clubs, hosted and examined by PKA founder and association President Mr Haig who oversees all our exams to ensure our standards remain high 💪🥊 well done everyone who took part, now the long wait for the results to come through the post ✉️🤞😀

🎉 another amazing day of grading exams completed 🎉 95 belts taken across the whole PKA syllabus with students from all Derbyshire clubs stepping up to climb that grading ladder 💪🥊😀 huge thanks to the whole instructing team plus Jon Davies, Holly Wincott, Joel Wincott, Jane Louise, Martin Ellis and John Kerfoot from the Coaching Team for making the day run so smoothly again 😀 looking forwards to handing out the results at next weeks classes
